Hello... I am Wanda Dial!

I am so excited to be on this new journey in my life. I do believe that God has prepared me for this journey as he has guided me through so many challenges in life.

I truly believe that if a person has not been through the storm, they most definitely do not understand "the storm". I have had some trying times in my life. Those times have prepared me to stay focused on the agenda, be a forward thinker, be a problem solver, a compromiser, and most of all a great communicator. All which are the qualities of a great leader.

Children and families are my passion!

I have made a living caring for children and families. I have worked in childcare for over thirty years. In that role, I was able to work with children, families, and community leaders to service children wholistically. I worked with agents to ensure families were able to have food on the table for children, bills were being paid, and our children were safe.

I have made a living ensuring that children and families were able to obtain the essentials needed to not only survive, but to thrive. I ran a small commercial cleaning business for thirteen years because some of the families that I worked with had felonies on their records and were unable to get jobs. I employed them, trained them, and mentored many of them as they saved money and acquired their own entrepreneurship.

The things that I have done in life have never been for me. I am a servant leader and believe in serving people. That fact remains today. As I run for this position as the Mayor of Lipscomb, I must share that this is not about me. I have sat in council meetings and have heard frustration, aggravation, and disgust. Citizens are continuously asking for a cleaner city... a safe city. I hear you. What I can promise is that if I am Mayor, I will focus on the concerns of citizens first. I will work with the city council and the citizens to ensure that the Lipscomb community is equivalent to Mountain Brook and Homewood when it comes to curb appeal. There is no reason our children and families should have to live in such atrocity. I can assure you that the first ninety days of office, the city of Lipscomb will be cleaned and a regular schedule for community cleanup will be implemented. We will rebuild, restore, and revitalize.
